About Us

South Pacific Laundry is a commercial laundry operation started in 1990 servicing the hospitality industry in metropolitan Melbourne and its surrounds, including the Mornington Penninsula and country Victoria.

The plant operates 7 days a week (including public holidays) and provides a 365 day service to customers.

The Business

The company’s initial thrust when it commenced operations was into the Chinese restaurant business.
In 1996 it was taken over by the present owners/management who have diversified the business and grown it exponentially. The departments now available are:
• Hotel Laundry
• Restaurant Laundry
• Hotel Linen Hire
• Hotel Linen Washing
• Hotel Dry Cleaning
• Hotel Laundry Service
• General Dry Cleaning

The business has developed and grown steadily over the years.

Sometimes this necessitates investment in the upgrading of the plant from time to time.
In 2005, the company made a strategic move to relocate from its 4,000 sqm site in Northcote to a 8,700 sqm property in Brunswick East. At a project cost of $13.5 million the plant was fitted out with the ‘state of the art’ machinery.

The larger space accommodated the installation of a 3rd Continuous Batch Washer (CBW) & other equipment, and the opportunity was being taken to re-arrange and upgrade all other machinery and systems; as a result of which, capacity increased from 30 tons to 45 tons per day.

The new plant was designed to cater for a 4th CBW (mentioned on the Technology page) and other ancillary equipment which is now in place and further increases capacity to 60 tons per day with a reduction in hours of operation. South Pacific Laundry’s spectrum of clients include Food & Beverage outlets, motels and 6-star hotels.

Recently, we upgraded one of our automated towel folders, which can process linen much faster.

South Pacific Laundry’s broad and varied client base requires it to operate and learn, to meet different requirements in terms of quality of product, turnaround time, packaging and delivery effectively, efficiently and promptly.

For example, the fleet of trucks are fitted with different types of tailgates to cater to the constraints of conditions on the loading bay and access road for different clients.
Similarly, there are different sizes of linen trolleys to meet the constraints of the storeroom, link way etc.

The company continues to grow and improve with time. We are always upgrading our equipment and striving to achieve the best service possible to our customers, exceeding their expectations.
