At South Pacific Laundry, we utilise a variety of different technologies to increase our productivity while keeping costs down as much as possible.  We continually strive to be up-to-date with the appropriate technology in order to maintain our 7-day operation, keep as small a carbon footprint as possible, and return your laundry to you as soon as we can.  Some of the equipment we utilise include items such as the ones below:

Continuous Batch Washer

An enormous drum-type washing machine, the Continuous Batch Washer (or CBW, as we call it) is capable of washing huge amounts of linen and feeding them to the industrial dryers after cleaning.

Industrial Dryers

Much more than your garden-variety dryer at home, our dryers stand over 3 metres tall and almost continuously dry linen 7 days a week, as it is fed to them from the CBW’s.

Automated folders and assembly lines

After being washed and dried, the linen is loaded into automated folding or ironing machines, and after processing it moves along belts such as you see in the pictures above, improving efficiency.

Automated Linen Bag rails

The linen moves through the laundry in these suspended bags, which has the varied purpose of keeping labour costs down, freeing up considerable floor space and keeping your laundry clean and away from the floor.    The bags van be remotely loaded into the washing machines and sorting areas where needed.

Automated Napkin ironer

Napkins, sheets and so on are ironed and folded through large industrial machines which produce neat bundles of fresh, folded linen every time.

Sorting Bins with conveyor feed

When we receive linen to be washed, even this step is geared for efficiency.  As you see in the above photo, each item to be washed is counted electronically and sorted by the type of item, for example, queen sheets and pillowcases.

Trolleys designed to reduce back strain

We have recently implemented linen carrying trolleys which are designed to let the items placed in the trolley to remain at optimal height for placing in and removing from the trolley.  This way, both our staff and our customers are less at risk from straining their back by reaching in and down, to get the last of the linen out of the bottom of the trolley.

As you can see, the more weight you place in the trolley, the more it lowers.

South Pacific Laundry utilises many technologies across a broad spectrum of fields in order to provide the best possible service to you, the customer.
